  • Fire glass can be applied up to 2" above burner
  • To save money: Consider using flame creation filler glass or crushed lava rock up to 1" above burner
  • Install preferred colored fire glass over filler material.  Natural Gas Burners Only
  • For fire rated river rocks and river stones.  Install stones on top of base material
  • For fire pit logs and medium size lava rock applications.  Apply base material of crushed or small lava rock to top of burner.  Install logs or lava rock on base material

Buyers Guide for Propane (LP) Gas Burners

  • Fire pit burner pan required for propane applications
  • Do not install more than 1/4" of fire glass or small lava rock above burner holes.
  • Do not block burner holes with media
  • Propane gas produces a black soot. Colored fire glass and decorative media will discolor during use- Consider using black fire glass or lava rock for your decorative media
  • Lava rock (3" or larger) and gas logs can be used as long as burner holes are not blocked
  • When designing and constructing fire feature ventilation is required
  • Important! Propane gas is a heavy gas. Applying too much media over burner may create back pressure and gas leakage resulting in gas pooling in fire pit.  Do not operate fire pit if this condition exists
  • A minimum of two ventilation openings 18 sq. inches each (Example: 6” x 3”) and orientated 180 degrees apart must be installed at base of enclosure
